37th Annual MMAAA Captain Al Wilson Memorial Golf Classic

The 37th Annual Capt. “Al” Wilson Memorial Golf Classic is the primary Alumni Scholarship fundraiser for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Alumni Association (MMMAA) and the kickoff event for Homecoming.

In 2024, this event raised over $44,000, making it the largest scholarship fundraiser in MMMAA history. Every dollar raised goes directly to scholarships for cadets in financial need, helping them stay on course to graduation.

Event Schedule

• 7:00 a.m. – Check-in, coffee & muffins

• 8:00 a.m. SHARP – Shotgun Start (Florida Scramble format)

• Post-golf – Lunch & awards ceremony at Waverly Oaks Golf Club

Location

Golfers will play at one of two premier Plymouth courses:

• Crosswinds Golf Club

• Waverly Oaks Golf Club (Awards lunch will be held here)

A total of 288 golfers will participate across the two 18-hole courses.

Format & Competitions

• Florida Scramble – Includes golf, cart, driving range, check-in gift, coffee/muffins, and lunch.

• Reunion Foursomes – Compete for prize money (half to the winner, half to the Cadet Scholarship Fund).

• Contests & Activities:

  • Traditional 50/50 Raffle, Silent Auction, and Live Auction

  • Air Cannon Contest on one hole

  • Mulligans for sale to boost your score

  • Reunion Class Competition for bragging rights
